About the role

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Governance, the incumbent supports the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) team in meeting CMHC’s legislative obligations.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitoring/triaging/responding to straightforward inquiries received via ATIP group mailbox (internal & external requests).
  • Opening/closing/tasking out new ATIP requests for senior analysts.
  • Printing ATIP records to ATIP system and following up on late tasking for senior analysts.
  • Processing informal requests and supporting with review if straightforward formal and consultation requests.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant ATIP, external regulation, and industry best practices, including participating in Treasury Board Secretariat ATIP Community meetings, training, and Inter Crown ATIP meetings.
  • Coordinate the retrieval of responsive records to ATIP requests with internal Offices of Primary Interest (OPI).

What you should have:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma with administrative experience in a Legal, Human Resources, or related environment.
  • Experience can be acquired through studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
  • Proven interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, political sensitivity) and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with ATIP requests.
  • A thorough knowledge of ATIP regulations.
  • Good organization skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Ability to function in a technological environment using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, and applications as well as consolidation and reporting tools.

It would be great if you also had:

  • A post-secondary studies (college or university) in Legal, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Knowledge of PrivaSoft software.
  • If you already possess a valid Secret (Level II) Federal Government Security Clearance.
