A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users. Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record. eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.

The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

About the Role & Typical Daily Duties
In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to apply your practical knowledge within a diverse financial system that works to support the health system. This position supports eHealth Saskatchewan’s financial services team in coding, entering invoices, and making supplier payments. As eHealth evolves and grows, this position must be able to broadly support the finance function including Accounts Payable and Receivable.

For this well-rounded role, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an eagerness to learn in order to grow our team and support in the development of a new accounting professional.

The successful candidate will be able to review reference materials and identify changes from previous year’s procedures, ensure compliance with policies, and prepare/communicate with eHealth management and external stakeholders on year-end processes and deadlines. This position is also responsible for ensuring budget allocations are correct, verifying information provided from other employees regarding expenditures, and communicating any corrections that are required.

What we are looking for

  • University degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institute focused on Finance/Accounting, plus a minimum of 1 year experience working with accounts payable. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Accounting Certifications would be an asset.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable accounting principles and/or procedures.

  • Ability to input, edit, update, and retrieve information on a computer using various software packages and applications with accuracy and within established timelines.
  • Ability to accurately perform complex mathematical calculations.
