On behalf of our client, Teryl Scott Lawyers Inc., we are seeking a full-time Junior Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized accounting professional looking to contribute to a well-established law firm.

The Opportunity:

As a Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in financial operations, trust accounting, and client account management. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with legal trust regulations, and provide support to the firm's financial processes. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-focused accounting professional with a strong foundation in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial management.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for financial management and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for documentation and collaboration.
  • Experience handling payroll processing and financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage operating and trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, tracking client payments and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Administer client contracts and retainers, maintaining accurate records and financial documentation.
Requirements
  • Accounting degree required.
  • CPA designation (preferred, but not required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a professional setting (law firm experience is an asset).
Benefits
  • Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
  • Defined Pension Plan with a 4% employer contribution.
  • Comprehensive Health & Dental Plan (50/50 cost split).
  • 3 weeks of vacation, including a mandatory week off between Christmas and New Year's.
  • This is a Monday - Friday role (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with no evenings or weekends required.
