Junior Accountant

Our client located in SE Calgary, is seeking a well-organized, highly motivated and number loving Junior Accountant to join their team in a full time, permanent capacity! This position will support the accounting team by assisting in the day-to-day financial activities of the company including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reconciliations. Responsibilities:

1. Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments
2. Monitor daily cash position; initiating transfers as required
3. Prepare and record bank deposits
4. Reconcile company credit card and expense reports
5. Assist in the completion of month end procedures and reporting requirements
6. Assist with internal and external audits as needed

Requirements:

1. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business or similar
2. 1+ years of experience in an accounting role
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is an asset
5. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
6. Must have strong work ethic, be highly motivated and proactive
