About The Role
On-site | Casual

We have a unique role in our Fredericton operation for the right candidate who is interested in both operations and client management. This role will consist of primary duties of operating the depot with secondary duties associated with supporting the account management team. This will include working with the operations and project teams – a unique learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Welcome clients and couriers in the sample receiving area;
  2. Prepare bottle orders for packing and shipping;
  3. Package and ship samples using appropriate couriers and procedures;
  4. Organize, prioritize, and track orders;
  5. Review and double check bottle orders prepared by others for errors;
  6. Receive supplies and distribute to appropriate department;
  7. Process return shipments for laboratory supplies;
  8. Take weekly stock counts;
  9. Maintain inventory control of sample bottles and general lab and shipping supplies;
  10. Deliver late shipments to couriers and others as required;
  11. Deliver/pickup of shipments, as required;
  12. Trace lost/late shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments;
  13. Provide excellent customer service to clients and couriers;
  14. Clean and manage coolers after sample login;
  15. Ensure sample receiving area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times;
  16. Receive samples/coolers;
  17. Unpack and layout all samples from each submission in the order of the submission;
  18. Label verification;
  19. Basic building maintenance;
  20. Provide general assistance to support regional operations as required;
  21. Follow internal Standard Operating Procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality procedures are adhered to;
  22. Carry out login checks for files logged in (including verifying account numbers, client contacts, email distribution lists, sample identifications, dates/times, job reference numbers, PO’s, SPO’s, COC attachments, lab products, EDDs, special reporting requirements, etc.);
  23. Updating and creating account notes;
  24. Assisting with invoicing where required (including invoice corrections, monthly invoicing, etc);
  25. Prepare/enter client bottle requests for Shipping;
  26. Prepare and maintain custom electronic chains of custodies and labels for clients;
  27. Miscellaneous filing of client information (e-mails, etc.);
  28. Maintain and update client account information (i.e. contacts, addresses, locations, etc.);
  29. Shipping confirmation (i.e. ensure new shipments & return shipments have been sent and/or received);
  30. Data entry for any client provided or field parameters;
  31. Reviewing the status of data (i.e. rush, recheck, missing, held, etc.);
  32. Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  33. Other duties as assigned.

About You
  1. Excellent customer service skills;
  2. Positive and energetic outlook;
  3. Demonstrated time management skills;
  4. Proven ability to work under pressure;
  5. Organized, detailed oriented and able to work independently;
  6. Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
  7. Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Word and Excel.

Required Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent;
  2. Environmental laboratory experience would be an asset;
  3. Valid unrestricted license for personal vehicle use applicable in the province/territory;
  4. No major driving violations and no more than two minor violations/incidents.

Physical Demands
  1. Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
  2. Lift up to 50lbs and carry for short distances;
  3. Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
