Job Description

We are seeking two full-time Transportation Analysts (EIT), one each for our Beltline Calgary and downtown Edmonton offices. Our successful hires will be recent university graduates from a Canadian Civil Engineering program, with a passion for (and preferably experience in) transportation engineering and planning. The incumbent will have an opportunity to be involved in data collection, collation, and analysis, working with a variety of our engineering staff to deliver quality projects for our clients.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Vehicle swept path analysis using AutoTurn
  • Trip and parking generation forecasting
  • Review active mode and transit requirements. Determine traffic and parking demand strategies
  • Determine trip distributions
  • Review traffic operations analysis using industry-standard software
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in the transportation network
  • Preparation of high-quality technical reports
  • Effectively communicate, both written and oral, with Bunt staff and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

Transportation Analyst candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program and be eligible to register with APEGA as an EIT. Only candidates who are currently eligible to work in Canada and currently reside in the greater Calgary / Edmonton areas will be considered.

Desirable knowledge and skills:

  • Exposure to traffic / transportation engineering through coursework and co-op / internship experience.
  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial frameworks that support transportation planning.
  • Knowledge of capacity analysis
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Training in or understanding of GIS
  • Training in or understanding of CorelDraw

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks by effective time management and task prioritization
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team
  • Be able to synthesize data into well-written text, suitable for a variety of audiences
  • Personable, self-motivated, curious and focused
  • An aptitude for technology and software
  • Excellent attention to detail

This position may require some fieldwork / regional travel. Applicants must have an unrestricted driver’s license in good standing.
