Business group: Global Retail Provisions – Provisions Retail reporting and data for the bank.
Project: Business line is working on different projects provision related where the resource will be deployed with some deliverables. Contributes to the overall success of the Retail Credit Provisions in International Banking ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Assists the divisional credit provisioning and portfolio evaluation process, ensuring ongoing adequacy of the international credit reserves.
- Assists in the provisioning methodology (IFRS9) by validating information, running models, and ensuring the results obtained are as expected.
- Ensures accuracy, integrity, validity and completeness of the information and models used for provision assessment under the IFRS 9 methodology.
- Contributes to the internal and external audit process, including SOX controls and compliance with external regulations including OSFI and IFRS.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Must Have:
- 1-4 years of experience in consumer risk analytics such as predictive analytics and data mining reporting.
- 1-4 years of knowledge of SAS, SQL, Excel and database.
Nice to Have:
- Prior loan loss provision and financial modelling would be an asset.
- A professional designation (such as CFA, CMA or CA) would be considered a plus.
- Spanish language is an asset.
Education and Certifications:
The ideal candidate is someone with experience in consumer risk analytics such as predictive analytics and data mining reporting within the financial sector. The best candidate speaks Spanish.
