Reporting to the Director, Accounting, you'll be responsible for the entire order to cash cycle, while ensuring revenue recognition is aligned with US GAAP and term of sales contracts. This role is suited to a natural problem solver, unafraid of a challenge, and motivated to improve and progress existing processes.
This is a Vancouver-based hybrid role where you will join the rest of our finance team in the office Tues - Thurs, with the flexibility to work from home on Mon & Fri. We are conveniently located in Yaletown, near the Expo and Canada Skytrain.
What you'll be doing...
- Prepare sales orders, invoices, and other correspondence with customers
- Collaborate with the sales team to address relevant customer billing requirements and inquiries
- Record and reconcile customer payments in the ERP system
- Manage communication with customers to facilitate payments for outstanding invoices (rarely have long outstanding invoices)
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the sales team and external customers
- Manage and improve efficiency of the existing order to cash process
- Determine proper revenue recognition as per sales contracts and US GAAP
- Prepare monthly journal entries relating to revenue
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Prepare sales tax filings as required
- Assisting with system improvements and procedure development
- May be asked to perform other duties as required
What you'll bring to the table...
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline strongly preferred
- 1 year of customer service, office administrative, or other relevant experience in office environment will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge of revenue recognition accounting standards
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of US sales tax will be considered a definite asset

The base pay range for this position Vancouver, BC is $43k - $60k + bonus. The compensation offered will be determined by factors such as relevant qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills.
