The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced and safety-conscious Journeyperson Pipefitters for the ITA1 Project at Kearl Lake, a major oil sands site in Northern Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment on a 14/14 rotation. Camp accommodations and meals provided. Charter flights provided from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary.

Compensation/Benefits

  • CLAC hourly wage: Journeyman $52.00/hr
  • Payday is every Friday
  • Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions
  • Benefits after 300 hours
  • Paid training
  • 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings
  • OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Expertly measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass valves, pipes, fittings
  • Join pipe sections and secure in position
  • Use test equipment to check systems for leaks
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices

Experience/Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification
  • Previous experience working in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Must have valid safety tickets: OSSA, CSTS-2020, Fall Protection, WHMIS 2015
  • Ensure a safe team environment
  • Adhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Desire to work in a team environment
  • Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must complete a criminal background check
