Job Title Project Manager – Systems Maintenance

Overview

Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project and is seeking highly qualified, experienced personnel to join the team of this complex P3 design and construction project.

Reporting to the Senior Systems Operation Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring the execution of the interim maintenance activities according to the planned schedule, addressing scope clarifications with the interim maintainer, and overseeing technical coordination between design, installation, operations & maintenance teams. This position will also be responsible for oversight and management of the interim maintenance scope for critical transit systems in relation to yard and mainline operations for the ECLRT project.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal departments and functions to achieve integration plans, design and installation drawings, commissioning reports and relevant documentation.
• Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained.
• Coordinate with interim systems’ maintenance vendor to ensure impact to yard and mainline operations is mitigated under the appropriate maintenance regime.
• Manage and track planned maintenance and corrective maintenance scope under interim maintenance team/vendor in a timely manner while ensuring appropriate record keeping within the Maintenance Management System database.
• Push and maintain the project schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestone and completion dates.
• Provide relationship building and schedule understanding to maintenance team members, capitalizing on opportunities for efficiency and windows to push for maintenance activities ahead.
• Identify and manage opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets.
• Focus on interface and relationship with the maintainer of the ECLRT.
• Lead and organize meetings with clients, stakeholders, and external members.
• Manage budget, headcount, and develop schedule to meet project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in transit systems or major construction projects, preferably as an experienced assistant project manager or with an extensive background as a project coordinator with comprehensive knowledge
• Experience working with transit systems – trackwork, overhead catenary, signaling, communications, fire/life safety, etc.
• Sound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Problem solving, mediation, gap analysis and recognition, and assertive yet fair communication skills
• Exemplary communication skills, keen attention to detail, motivated self-starter, team player
• Preference for: Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Project Management Professional (P.M.P)
• Must have strong communication skills (in English) both verbal and written
• Considerable skill in data management, recordkeeping, research, analysis and reporting

Physical Demands

• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Primary work location is the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility (EMSF) for the ECRLT project.
• Work location flexibility within the GTA desirable.
