Overview: One of our most respected clients within the energy transportation, storage and gas liquids industry is looking to add a Junior to Intermediate IT Cybersecurity Specialist to its team based in Calgary. This opportunity is required to be in office Monday to Friday.
What you will be doing:
Provide Cybersecurity expertise, guidance and strategy for Information Technology, Operational Technology and Industrial Control Systems.
Develop Cybersecurity roadmaps that align with business strategy and meet regulatory requirements.
Perform security assessments and identify recommendations and improvements within existing or new architectures.
Design security solutions to mitigate threats.
Create solutions that align enterprise security architecture frameworks and standards with overall business and security strategy.
Identify opportunities for cybersecurity program optimization, growth, scalability and improvements with recommended courses of action to support the current and future maturity goals.
Lead cybersecurity investigations and remediation activities as required.
Participate in the planning, design and execution of Cybersecurity Incident Management, phishing simulations, tabletop exercises, and daily operations.
Participate and adhere to IT Change Control, CSOX and other IT processes.
Work with business and other IT groups to develop, communicate and implement cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures and guidelines on cybersecurity, risk and compliance.
Assist in developing and maintaining the cybersecurity incident management plans and relational disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Participate in internal and external project planning and execution to meet business objectives.
What you must have:
Two to Three (2 to 3) years of applicable work experience in cybersecurity operations in an enterprise environment, both IT and ICS/OT.
Extensive knowledge of NIST cybersecurity framework and other best practice security architectures.
Strong understanding of system and network administration principles, functions, and technology.
Extensive knowledge of Azure platform, services and technologies.
Experience in identifying gaps in existing architectures.
Experience in designing and implementing security solutions to mitigate threats.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft-based security solutions (Defender, MCAS, Sentinel, etc.).
Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS) and network security methodologies.
Knowledge of network access, identity, and access management (e.g., public key infrastructure, Oauth, OpenID, SAML, SPML).
Knowledge of capabilities and applications of network equipment including routers, switches, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.
Knowledge of remote access technology concepts.
Knowledge of application firewall concepts and functions (e.g., single point of authentication enforcement, data anonymization, DLP scanning, SSL security).
Knowledge of risk management processes and experience in conducting risk assessments.
Familiarity with the application of privacy principles to organizational requirements.
Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
Hands-on experience with asset management, configuration, automation, optimization and instrumentation in an enterprise, wide area network topology.
Experience with device patching principles and methodologies.
