Java Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Responsibilities

1. Design and build scalable automated test frameworks and test suites working across technologies
2. Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs and web services
3. Develop automation code demonstrating a strong understanding of object-oriented design fundamentals, data structures, and design patterns (not just PageObjectModel, PageFactory, and Singleton)
4. Create API and web service automated tests using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured or similar tools
5. Create, maintain, and execute test scripts, analyze and communicate test results
6. Mentor QA resources in test automation
7. Provide the Team Lead with effort estimates and progress reports

Requirements

1. Minimum of five years of experience, preferably in either a (SDE) Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role
2. Minimum 4 years of experience with backend automation with technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services, Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured
3. Accomplished abilities in Java and Core Java (minimum 4 years) and scripting languages, and in API testing and writing automated tests for mobile platforms
4. Sound knowledge of database CRUD operations, Unix commands, scripting
5. Exposure to working in a DevOps environment such as, installing, configuring, and integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration tools (CI/CD) like Jenkins
6. Minimum 6 years of experience in QA
7. Experience using Git
8. Ability to contribute to improving QA best practices

Nice to haves

1. Working knowledge on testing and configuring Amazon Web Services (AWS)
2. Experience with performance and/or security testing
3. Experience with mobile app testing on iOS and Android
4. Experience with testing web apps/websites
5. Experience with tools such as Appium, Selenium, and/or XCUI test

The position MUST work out of our Vancouver office. Relocation support is not provided.
