Position Overview:
As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing information technology (IT) support to branches across the Association, while also acting as backup support for the Director, Information Technology, when needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Technical Support & Services: Provide remote and on-site IT support for all YMCA network-connected devices. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications while troubleshooting and resolving system and network issues.
- Software & Application Management: Set up user accounts, manage password issues, and support application rollouts. Document installation procedures and contribute to IT process documentation.
- Business Analysis & Technology Support: Create procedural documentation and reports to support operations. Test and evaluate new technologies for potential improvements.
- Client Support: Assist staff with troubleshooting, both in person and remotely, ensuring timely issue resolution. Manage service requests, incidents, and IT changes using the ticketing system.
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Administration.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in technical support, hardware installation, IT/Computer help desk, and/or a combination of technical training and work experience.
- CompTIA A+ certification (required).
- Highly organized team player with effective time management skills.
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Access to reliable transportation as this role requires travel across communities served.
A Major Asset If:
- You have worked in non-profit, charity or public sector organizations.
- You have experience with applications such as Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft Active Directory, Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft365, Microsoft Entra.
- You have Net+ and Microsoft certifications.
