Job description

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM with afterhours availability

Job Status: 4- or 8-month Co-op Opportunity (Please indicate in cover letter 4- or 8-months availability)

We’re full-service and fully loaded with an industry-leading diverse fleet of over 80,000 trailers and a support network of 240 service bays, 118 mobile service trucks, and 430+ skilled mechanics.

As an IT Support Intern based out of our Canadian Headquarters in Mississauga, you will be responsible for providing first level technical assistance to employees across Canada by diagnosing and resolving technical issues as well as providing in-house application support to all users.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Administer user accounts and access levels across all IT infrastructure components
  • Provide assistance to staff relating to desktop application usage and technical issues
  • Set up and administer domain, email and phone system accounts
  • Troubleshoot and proactively resolve technical issues in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate IT services with external service providers
  • Manage consumables for all technical equipment such as printers, fax and copier
  • Log all support interactions and ensure timely response and follow up
  • Able to support the business between 6AM to 8PM and on weekends as required
  • Provide status updates as needed
  • Follow TEN’s standard support procedures

Job Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in IT Infrastructure
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to information technology
  • Experienced in Windows, Mac OS, iOS, MS Office, UNIX and Citrix desktop environment
  • Experienced working with iOS and Android devices
  • Customer focused with demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate workflow, prioritize and follow through on tasks to completion
  • Ability to flexibly work in shifts between Business hours 6AM to 8PM
  • Some after-hours or weekend support may be required
  • Ability to work from home as well as in the office
  • Self-starting and strong documentation skills
