IT Security & Controls Solution Architect

Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite in Montreal
End Date: December 31st, 2025

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect specializing in IT Security and Controls to support the development of detailed technical documentation for a large-scale Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiative. The ideal candidate is an expert in IAM and risk controls, with hands-on experience designing secure solutions using tools such as SAP, Saviynt, ServiceNow, and Active Directory.

You will play a central role in defining and documenting secure architectures that align with regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze business, architectural, and technical requirements to produce comprehensive Solution Design Documents (SDDs) focused on:

   1. IAM Automation

   2. RBAC Application Security

   3. SOX Controls

   4. Segregation of Duties (SoD)

2. Work closely with teams across the organization—Security Architecture, Governance, Project Management, and Controls Delivery—to gather inputs and validate technical requirements.

3. Produce clear, precise, and structured documentation that supports both technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring it is easy to understand, actionable, and aligned with industry best practices.

4. Maintain accuracy and consistency in all documentation; ensure alignment between the SDD and the actual implementation of the security solutions.

5. Facilitate stakeholder reviews and obtain formal approvals for each version of the SDD.

6. Continuously update the documentation throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.

7. Contribute to test strategy development and assist in the creation of test cases to confirm that the implementation aligns with documented specifications.

Required Qualifications

1. Technical Writing & Documentation: Proven ability to produce structured, detailed, and reader-friendly technical documents.

2. IAM Expertise: Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management, with specialized knowledge of SAP and Saviynt environments.

3. Tool Proficiency: Experience working with SAP, Saviynt, ServiceNow, and Active Directory in a security context.

4. Risk & Controls: Expertise in IAM automation, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), SOX compliance controls, and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
