Responsibilities

  1. Manage the performance of assigned project managers
  2. Ensure project managers comply with PMO methodology
  3. Proactively monitor and resolve project roadblocks in alignment with PMO guidance
  4. Address project team conflicts
  5. Ensure project managers assertively address conflicts with stakeholders and sponsors
  6. Review and approve key project management artifacts
  7. Ensure the following project management activities are performed according to company’s standards:
  • Project initiation and planning
  • Budget development, tracking, and variance reporting
  • Resource planning and assignment
  • Schedule management (develop, control, and update)
  • Status reporting
  • Issue management, including issue logging, tracking, and escalation
  • Project change management, utilizing the change control process to manage changes to project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Quality management, including review and assurance of deliverables prior to acceptance
  • Risk management, including risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking risk status, and initiating contingency plans
  • Communication management, including communication planning and execution of the plan
  • Deliverable acceptance process, including identification of who will be accepting project deliverables and the process that will be used

Qualifications
  1. Expertise in project lifecycles and project planning including resource, cost, and schedule estimation
  2. Experience developing business cases
  3. Experience providing oversight and managing performance of project managers
  4. Strong facilitation skills

Additional Requirements:
  1. PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is desired
  2. Experience planning and managing projects in a Public Sector organization is an asset
  3. Familiarity with Smartsheet is desired
  4. Must have Windows based computer with standard Windows applications
  5. Must have own Visio license
  6. Must possess own communication device
