We have partnered with a local Managed Services Provider (MSP) to support them in the recruitment process to find their newest addition: IT Infrastructure Specialist (Tier 3)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Execution & Systems Upgrades: Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects, including migrations from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, physical server upgrades (VMware to Hyper-V), and Windows Server VM upgrades. Execute rollouts for security tools such as SentinelOne, Avanan, and DropSuite.
  2. Client Support & Onboarding: Oversee onboarding and remediation for new clients, ensuring environments are optimized and fully operational. Provide escalated problem-solving and support, including occasional deskside assistance.
  3. System Administration & Optimization: Serve as a subject matter expert on tools like Labtech (Automate), ImmyBot, SentinelOne, and Avanan. Continuously improve configurations and manage system rollouts.
  4. Network & Infrastructure Improvements: Conduct network rollouts and upgrades, primarily involving Meraki or Ubiquiti systems. Implement site improvements with a proactive mindset, focusing on efficiency and long-term system reliability.
  5. Client Engagement: Collaborate with a diverse client base, including trades, manufacturing, non-profits, and commercial real estate. Prioritize delivering simple, reliable solutions tailored to their operational needs.
  6. On-Call Support & Maintenance: Participate in an on-call rotation while discouraging after-hours client interactions. Perform proactive site improvements rather than reactive maintenance, identifying opportunities to enhance system performance.

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (an asset)
  • Relevant Professional Certifications (an asset):
    • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, or Windows Server)
    • VMware or Hyper-V certifications (preferred for virtualization projects)
    • Networking certifications such as Cisco Meraki or Ubiquiti (beneficial)
    • Security-focused certifications (e.g., SentinelOne, Avanan, or equivalent)

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Flexibility to work in office, from home, and at client sites as needed.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation with a focus on minimizing after-hours calls.

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience required in an MSP environment
  • Proven experience in infrastructure projects such as cloud migrations, server upgrades, and network rollouts (Meraki, Ubiquiti).

Skills:

  • Strong communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork with a proactive “get it done” mindset.
  • Skilled in planning, executing, and delivering IT projects on time with attention to efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Ability to build strong client partnerships, ensure satisfaction, and provide solutions that align with business needs.
  • Strong technical ability with confidence in cloud migrations, server upgrades, and network rollouts.

Base Salary: $80,000 per year

  • Salary based on experience
  • Full benefits package included

Work Hours:

  • Regular hours are Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM
  • Occasional after-hours client support required.
  • Overtime provided as time-in-lieu for scheduled project work/on-call.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
