Job description

Summary:

Reporting to the IT Manager Ecommerce, the Developer is responsible for designing, configuring, and modifying software, tools, and application programs. Continually developing skills in design and problem solving and actively participating in training opportunities to enhance their technical skills. They possess valuable knowledge of structured application analysis, design, and database practices. Learns and adapts to continuously changing technology. Effectively communicates in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes, configures, builds and/or modifies software, tools/application programs and participates in unit testing of modified components.
  • Creates flow charts for technical analysis so that the project team can understand the data flow.
  • Develops logic skills necessary to learn computer programming language concepts and techniques as well as software applications and tools.
  • Participates in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Reviews software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, or to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a similar position building and maintaining e-commerce sites or web applications.
  • 2 years’ experience with SQL, creating views and stored procedures.
  • Useful knowledge of structured application analysis, design, and database practices.
  • Build and deploy pixel tags, through data layer objects.
  • Experience in C#, ASP.NET, MVC 4.
  • JavaScript, jQuery, and other JavaScript Frameworks (React, Node.js).
  • Utilizing Web Services and Web-based APIs (SOAP, XML, RESTful).
  • Experience in JAVA framework (Spring) is considered an asset.
  • Experience in Kubernetes, Docker is considered an asset.
