PRT is seeking a seasonal Irrigation Specialist to work at our PRT Vernon Nursery in Vernon, BC. As a key member of the forest nursery grow team, the Irrigation Specialist will assist in the growing of tree seedlings used for reforestation. The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for mixing fertilizers and checking EC readings, using and maintaining the irrigation system as well as assisting in any nursery related duties. Candidates should have a desire and keenness to learn about forest seedlings, keep accurate records, work independently and efficiently. Majority of the work will be done outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes at times. Successful applicants will be required to complete in-house online training courses. Shift work and weekend work is required – regular hours are 37.5 hours per week with varying shift times according to the grow season.
