IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician

Position Summary

Tacten Industrial Inc. is recruiting 9 certified IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to support our projects in Canada.

Work Location:

Primary office locations are in Edmonton, AB, and Fort McMurray, AB. The role requires frequent travel to various project sites across Alberta.

Start date: Work commencing in 2024.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time

Wage: Hourly wage rate of $46.68 to $55.67 CDN, depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night work. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at company’s discretion in accordance with company policy. Vacation pay is provided at a rate of 6%.

Language of work: Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

An IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician utilizes specialized knowledge of Rope Access Technology to manage the safety of crews engaged in rope access activities, organize work functions specific to rope access jobs, and supervise crews performing a broad range of technical and/or industrial services at heights. The role ensures individual and organizational compliance with IRATA standards and regulations to ensure the safe and effective performance of work. The IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician is responsible for safety management, work site organization and planning, and the supervision of others performing a variety of work while suspended from ropes.

Requirements

• IRATA Level 3 Certification required
• A thorough understanding of applicable rope access applications, and comprehensive knowledge of theory, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and hauling, and advanced rescue techniques
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician working within a variety of industrial environments.
• Current first aid certification
• A valid drivers’ license is preferred
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse team
• Ability to work productively in a variety of adverse conditions
• Physical and psychological fitness, with the ability to successfully submit to drug and alcohol testing on a random schedule
• Ability to comply with Acuren and/or client-required pandemic policies prior to employment and continued compliance with adaptive Acuren and/or client pandemic policies.
