The Analyst Trainee NE is a training position responsible for preparing future investment banking analysts in assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The overall objective of this role is to prepare incoming Investment Banking Analysts for their role as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans.
- Preparing written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals.
- Conducting economic/financial research.
- Evaluating company financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends.
- Building complex financial models for valuation purposes.
- Assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment to meet deadlines.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
Your time here will look something like this:
- Collecting and analyzing company information to assist transactions, including conducting industry research, revising, and organizing financial data.
- Analyzing financial data and developing financial models including company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing, and comparative analyses.
- Creating and finalizing new business development presentations.
- Assisting in the production of confidential information memorandums.
- Working collaboratively with global deal teams across various regions on cross-border transactions.
- Coordinating tasks with internal and external working teams.
