Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, International Enrolment, the incumbent is responsible for the administration activity related to the admissions process for International student applicants and applicants to Algonquin College Public College Private Partnership (PCPP). The incumbent must make decisions, participate in communicating information and requesting documents in order to complete applications and ensure sufficient applications to fill programs. As a subject matter expert on admission assessments, program eligibility and advanced standing, the incumbent assesses admissions applications through the International application portal. This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for students in order to support the College meeting its International and Public College Private Partnership (PCPP) enrolment targets. The incumbent helps to realize enrolment and conversion goals by ensuring timely processing, strong communication and effective relationships with students. The incumbent supports process improvements within processing and participates in review meetings once a semester.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) year post-secondary Diploma in Business Administration, International Business, Public Administration or related field;
Minimum three (3) years full-time related clerical experience in a client service environment with demonstrated progression;
Experience working with databases;
Additional Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and well-developed listening skills;
Proven planning skills and decision-making abilities;
Excellent client service skills; diplomacy and sound judgement is essential;
Ability to foster effective working relationships, supporting the teamwork structure both internal and external to the unit;
Ability to analyze complex situations;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to identify, participate and implement lean process improvements;
Ability to multi-task under pressure and to meet inflexible deadlines;
Ability to respect confidentiality;
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment;
Sound computer and keyboarding skills including experience with the MS Office Suite;
Knowledge of a Student Information System would be considered an asset;
Experience working in an intercultural environment would be considered an asset;
Experience working with Salesforce would be an asset.
