Job description
The Dental Hygiene Training Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting Operations in the clinics of their region. This position involves a range of responsibilities from onboarding to continuous learning initiatives for dental hygienists. The primary objective is to ensure that clinical dental hygienists are equipped to provide exceptional, client-focused care, support business objectives, and uphold the mission and values of MCA Dental Group. This role will be based in Thunder Bay and will support our 3 locations in Thunder Bay. This role will be an additional 4-8 hours weekly. Travel between the clinics will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Training and Development: Enhance the skills of dental hygienists by delivering comprehensive training programs. This includes supporting recruitment, onboarding, regular check-ins, and assisting Managers and Regional Managers in achieving annual performance goals.
Coaching & Mentorship: Identify and coach in-office dental hygiene mentors, providing training that promotes excellent patient care and improves overall performance in line with MCA’s core values.
Reporting & Analysis: Conduct training needs assessments, following up with learning materials, and manage all phases of training interventions within the assigned region. Provide ongoing data reporting to the senior leadership team to support corporate initiatives and exemplify the mission and values of MCA. Work collaboratively and align with the clinical hygiene training team to ensure continuity and support the overarching goals of the MCA Dental Group Dental Hygiene program, which are universal while respecting regional nuances.
Requirements:
Diploma or University degree in Dental Hygiene
Minimum 10 years of work experience as a clinical Dental Hygienist
Must maintain registration in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
Certification or experience as a Dental Assistant is considered an asset
Experience and/or Certification in Adult Education, Human Resources, Business or other relevant is highly desirable
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of learning
Adept at using a variety of technologies (e.g. Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.)
Advanced working experience using dental software, tools, equipment
Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate, and improve others
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders
