About This Role
POSITION PROFILE
- Participate in the planning and execution of financial and operational internal audits.
- Perform internal control testing and evaluation of design of internal controls in the context of Sarbanes Oxley certification.
- Review functions and business processes to identify key risks and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting and operational processes.
- Prepare clear and accurate working papers and reports on SOX testing and internal audit findings.
- Track progress of implementation of remedial action plan on deficiencies – SOX and Internal audit.
- Participate in specific ad-hoc Internal Audit mandates from Management requests.
- Ability to pivot quickly and adapt.
- Ability to create audit programs based on audited subject even if new subject.
- Be very risk oriented and acute sense of prioritization.
- The candidate should be available for periodic travel considering CAE’s international presence (approximately 20-25% of the time).
Qualifications
- University degree along with a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE or other relevant designation).
- Three to five years of external audit experience in an accounting firm and/or within an internal audit department.
- Ability to take initiative, detect problems and propose practical solutions, resourceful.
- Ability to work well in teams as well as independently with minimal supervision (internal and external - Finance, Operations and the external auditors).
- Good oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Experience, exposure to data analytics from analytics ideation to developing analytics workflows to using analytics and analysing data.
- Exposure over cybersecurity, ESG, project/program management audits would be very nice to have.
- Experience in very highly regulated industries such as civil aviation, defense and security, pharmaceutical, financial services would be a great plus.
