Intermodal Coordinator (truck)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for handling, monitoring, and coordinating shipments for door collection and/or delivery in accordance with established truck distribution percentages. Works collaboratively with internal and external organizations to include customers, truck vendors, and CCA business teams to ensure Intermodal cargo is moved in an efficient and expedited manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Dispatch

1. Analyze, plan and prioritize inland haulage according to import/export timetables, terminal/rail schedules, special equipment needs, and client-specific delivery conditions.
2. Facilitate the movement of containers that have been miss-routed and/or improperly discharged due to vessel by-passes, errors, or equipment emergencies.
3. Confirm and manage in-house truck availability.
4. Create and issue work orders for the door collection and/or delivery in accordance with established truck rates and distribution percentages.

Service Delivery Coordination

1. Monitor shipments by tracking and tracing containers, via multiple interfaces, to ensure door appointments are met and cargo is loaded/delivered timely.
2. Communicate to customer(s) of potential delays or issues preventing dispatch and maintain customer interactions until all delivery requirements are satisfied.
3. Work collaboratively with internal departments to expedite transport.

Cost Management

1. Notify and invoice/rebill customers for additional transport-related expenses including but not limited to: Pre-pulls, revenue generating trucker yard and container yard storage, multi stops, drop and picks.
2. Research and reconcile truck and customer invoice discrepancies.
3. Identify opportunities through micro analysis of customer locations for cost savings which includes match backs/one ways.
4. Monitor and report trucker performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field an asset.
2. Experience: Strong understanding of transportation and logistics.

4. Advanced Excel skills, including macros.
5. Ability to multi-task and prioritize time sensitive issues.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
7. A customer-focused mindset.
8. Proactive, well organized, and detail-oriented.
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.
