Intermediate to Senior Level Corporate Paralegal

Rockies Law LLP, Southeast BC’s Law Firm, is seeking an intermediate to senior level Corporate Paralegal to join our team, full-time, based in our Cranbrook office. You will provide direct support to two lawyers, in the Cranbrook office, to other solicitors of the firm from time to time together with local staff, and to our many corporate clients.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Company incorporations
2. Corporate and Tax reorganizations
3. Amalgamations
4. Share structure and article alterations
5. Redemptions, retractions and repurchases
6. Restorations, dissolutions, change of name, ownership registration
7. Dividends
8. Changes to Directors, Officers and Shareholders
9. Minute book repair
10. Liaising with external parties on share and asset purchases
11. Communications with lawyers, accountants and clients
12. Quality control of service delivery
13. Review of Corporate department systems, manual and electronic, with recommendations for potential efficiencies
14. Assignment of work within the Corporate department

Qualifications and Qualities:

1. Legal Administrative / Paralegal certification from a recognized institution
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal
3. Attention to detail and a desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. A willingness to continuously upgrade skills and to work in a team environment
7. Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a working knowledge of APPARA and SOLUNO would be an asset
