Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  1. Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing.
  2. Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
  3. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components.
  4. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems.
General Skills:
  1. Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level.
  2. Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications.
  3. Knowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases.
  4. Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms.
  5. Experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests.
  6. Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities.
  7. Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies.
  8. Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation.
  9. Experience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.
  10. Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
  11. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills.
  12. A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
  13. Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools.
Desirable Skills:
  1. Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language.
  2. Experience in the use of information retrieval packages.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
  5. Experience using screen reader (JAWS, NVDA) for accessibility testing and High Compliance Sherriff tool.
  6. Experience with Test Automation tool in particular Quick Test pro v10.0, Client Quality Center.
  7. Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems.
  8. Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases.
  9. Experience testing headless Content Management System (CMS) - e.g. Kentico Kontent, Contentful.
  10. Skills in SQL, XML, ASP.NET testing with Web forms, script for multi-browser support, CSS testing experience.
  11. Experience testing Commercial Off-the Shelf Applications (COTS).
  12. Experience testing Web Focus applications.
  13. Experience in an Client Non Stop (Tandem) batch, online, n-tier and web environment environment.
  14. Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
QA Skills - 40%:
  1. Working knowledge of the entire Software Testing processes.
  2. Experience with software testing and testing methodologies.
  3. Experience in manual and automated testing.
  4. Experience in writing test scripts, test cases and test scenarios, testing web applications and reporting defects.
  5. Experience with executing system and user acceptance test.
  6. Experience testing web applications that use content management systems as backend (e.g. Kentico, Contentful).
Technical Skills - 40%:
  1. Proficiency with desktop tools (Visio, MS Office, MS Project, MS Outlook).
  2. Experience with Client Non Stop (Tandem) batch, online, n-tier and web environment.
  3. Experience in testing Web Focus applications.
  4. Strong technical skills in SQL, and XML, ASP.NET testing with Web forms, jscript for multi-browser support, CSS testing experience.
  5. Headless Content Management System (CMS) testing experience - e.g. Kentico Kontent, Contentful.
  6. Demonstrated AODA testing experience with full WCAG AA compliance in-web applications.
  7. Experience using screen reader (JAWS, NVDA) for testing and High Compliance Sherriff tool.
  8. Demonstrates experience with Test Automation tool in particular Quick Test pro v10.0, Client Quality Center.
  9. Experience in an Client Non Stop (Tandem) batch, online, n-tier and web environment.
  10. Experience working in projects following Agile approach; working in short iterations, test user stories, track estimates in TFS/DevOps.
  11. Experience in testing Web Focus applications.
