About the team

The biggest companies in the world use Maestro every day to solve their supply chain challenges. Our team owns an incredibly powerful supply chain planning engine. This engine stores and serves the data and performs calculations with incredible speed, accuracy, and reliability.

We’ve just embarked on an ambitious and transformational project to put cloud first - rewrite our planning engine and update it with the newest technologies and approaches. At the same time, we need to support all our existing customers. It’s an ambitious project! We’re unleashing the team’s creativity and innovation to support more users, more customers, more data, more calculations, faster performance.

What you will do

  1. Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable features of our cloud-native backend system and/or test framework.
  2. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, ensuring high-quality deliverables through peer reviews and adherence to coding standards.
  3. Design and implement tests at all test levels: unit, subsystem, integration, contract, etc.
  4. Elaborate the work required to implement and test new functionality. Create and evaluate work items, test plans, and strategies.
  5. Actively participate in feature design and test plan reviews.
  6. Contribute to a variety of activities throughout the feature development lifecycle, including maintaining environments, triaging failures, etc.

What we are looking for

  1. 2-4 years of relevant software development experience.
  2. Demonstrated history of contributing features to a production code or automated test framework.
  3. Solid experience developing a significant amount of code in at least one object-oriented programming language (Go, Java, C# or any other modern language preferred). Willingness to learn and work in multiple languages.
  4. Ability to extract test plans from project requirements and implement automated tests based on the test plans.
  5. High- and low-level design skills – describe the problem at a high level, abstract the problem, break it down into implementable pieces.
  6. Willingness to work with a still-evolving technology stack.
  7. Quick learner.
  8. Adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  9. Interest in developing cloud-based, horizontally scalable enterprise software.

Highly desired skills & experience

  1. Cloud knowledge, including Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestrating containerized environments and Docker for containerization.
  2. Experience designing and implementing database and query engines.
  3. Hands-on experience with asynchronous and concurrent programming.
  4. Experience developing distributed, cloud-based enterprise software.
  5. Ability to write performant code, ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks.
