Intermediate / Senior Data Engineer

SDK is a fast-growing Canadian data and analytics company working with some of the country’s most respected enterprise brands. We’re looking for a skilled Intermediate or Senior Big Data Engineer to join our Calgary team. This is a hybrid role , with the expectation that team members work in the office 3 days a week to support collaboration and client delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Build, scale, and maintain cloud-based data platforms and pipelines
• Work hands-on with Microsoft Fabric , Databricks , and Snowflake to deliver high-impact data solutions
• Design and implement robust ETL / ELT workflows using Fabric Pipelines, ADF, and Spark
• Partner with technical and business teams to deliver clean, trusted, and timely data
• Support DevOps efforts and CI / CD for data infrastructure using Azure DevOps
• Develop and maintain scalable data models including star schemas and Type 1 / 2 dimensions

What You Bring

• 5+ years in a Data Engineering role (intermediate or senior level)
• Deep hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake)
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Fabric – including Lakehouses, Pipelines, OneLake, and Dataflows Gen2
• Strong expertise with Snowflake : architecture, performance tuning, and SQL optimization
• Proficiency in SQL , Python , and / or Scala
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory , Synapse, or other orchestration tools
• Solid grasp of data architecture, dimensional modeling, and data governance
• Experience with CI / CD pipelines, Git, and Azure DevOps

Preferred Certifications (or willingness to obtain) :

• Microsoft Certified : Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
• Snowflake SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced : Data Engineer

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Fabric Real-Time Analytics or KQL
• Power BI report development or semantic modeling experience
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks and metadata management tools
• Experience in regulated industries such as energy, finance, or healthcare
