Sinn Studio is looking for an Intermediate QA Specialist to join our team to aid quality through the process and reinforcing seamless gameplay experiences. The incumbent integrates high quality standards into our projects, ensuring we have reliable products that meet performance requirements, defect-free. They execute test efforts balancing deliverables and workflow improvements as priorities evolve. Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on Quality Assurance (QA) support for end-to-end workflows on studio projects/features, ensuring proper player experience.
- Align workflows and tool compatibility to maintain consistent quality delivery through productions lifecycles.
- Help execute QA initiatives proactively to meet deadlines and reflect business requirements in the test environment.
- Verify feature implementation aligns with design specifications and test plans for current/new features, as well as game changes/releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and estimate personal QA efforts monitoring ecosystem impact.
- Maintain project knowledge to intimately understand interdependencies.
- Empower the production team to continue to make decisions that support the end goals of our product.
- Help implement improvements across QA for efficiency and quality through tools, post-mortems, risk assessments and processes.
- Help efficiency with any tooling and monitored automation techniques.
- Proactively address performance issues and mitigate risks and blockers within the studio’s test strategies.
- Monitor, report, and debug known defects/flaws, helping oversee the testing of game content throughout QA cycles.
- Assist in prioritizing bug backlog and escalate risks or blockers when discovered.
- Generate reports to monitor metrics, providing insights into performance, bugs, features, and playability.
- Track user-centric trends and testing data over the production lifecycle, utilizing quantitative data and qualitative feedback.
- Communicate regularly with production teams and stakeholders, maintaining status updates on initiatives.
- Effectively relay test case statuses to the team, keeping them informed of risks and mitigation plans.
- Serve as a voice of the player/consumer.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications

- 2-4+ years of experience in quality assurance (QA) and play testing in the games industry with the ability to reinforce high-quality practices.
- A clear understanding of the game development process, pipeline and requirements.
- Knowledge and experience working with Unreal Engine 4 / 5.
- Good understanding of testing elements including performance and automated testing as well as test scripting.
- Experience in non-functional testing (ie scalability, load testing) to further reinforce test coverage.
- Experience with version control working towards task completion.
- Good understanding and application of analytical knowledge.
- Demonstrated time management ability to handle competing priorities in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment in an effective manner.
- Reliable, detail-oriented and problem-solving abilities.
- Agile and eager to quickly iterate in a fluid environment.
- Good knowledge of testing tools and reporting practices.
- Proficient in defect management tools as well as craft or error logs.
- Understanding of overcoming hurdles in quality assurance including bugs/defects (and tracking them).
- Effective communicator in different formats for QA needs.
- Open to constructive criticism.
- Ability to consistently maintain documentation and asset management.
- Genuine collaborator with technical and non-technical team members for great results and iterative feedback loops.
- Comfortable being in a virtual environment for varying times wearing a VR headset.

- PC and console experience preferred over mobile.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or relevant experience.
- An authentic understanding and passion about games / working in the industry.
Additional Information
Salary Range: $60,000 - 75,000 CAD annually + 3 weeks vacation, sick days, employer paid benefits (except LTD), Employee Assistance Program, wellness days, birthday day off, a Group Retirement Savings Plan (GRSP), and more. As of the time of this posting, Sinn Studio lists the projected base salary range in good faith.

Office Location: Liberty Village, Toronto
Work Structure: Preference will be given to local candidates or those who are willing to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area to work in a hybrid model with two days in office collaborating with local team members and our founders.
