To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Project Manager, Transmission & Distribution to join our National Electrical Team, located in our downtown Toronto office.
This position will play a crucial role in providing Project Management support in the design and optimization of distribution and transmission lines, overhead and underground, related to but not limited to power facilities, high voltage or medium voltage transmission, station/substations, and distribution facilities. This role involves close management and collaboration with clients and stakeholders to understand their engineering needs, ensuring successful project coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical engineering, strong technical expertise and ideally consulting experience ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

What you can expect to do here:
- Assist the Project Manager to manage multidisciplinary projects focused on transmission and distribution.
- Act as a liaison between the project manager and team members.
- Assist with planning and organizing tasks, managing a project action register, organizing meetings and taking meeting notes.
- Create reports and updates for the project management team.
- Manage deadlines and workflow, and schedule meetings and appointments.
- Keep track of budgeting details and changes in project goals.
- Evaluate project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Support project management processes, including opening, closing and quality assurance processes.
- Track change requests to ensure regular follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned/required such as supporting proposal writing.
- Use and develop leadership skills on an ongoing basis.
- Daily communication to all stakeholders and exchange technical requirements and project information.
- Occasional travel for project meetings, site assessments, training and other purposes.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in engineering or other relevant field.
- 5 to 7 years experience ideally around electrical engineering.
- Over 2 years of experience in project coordination is highly recommended.
- Experience in a Project Management role managing complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Ideally member in good standing as a Professional Engineer within your province of practice preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to meet deadlines, execute and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of planning software (MS Project or Primavera P6) considered an asset.
- PMP certification considered an asset.
- Proactive approach to problem solving with good decision-making skills.
