Requirements
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Minimum BSc in marine ecology, marine biology, zoology, or equivalent
- Professional designation (RPBio, RBTech), or ability to qualify through the College of Applied Biologists
- 3-5 years’ experience in coastal monitoring/sampling programs ideally in the professional consulting context.
- Solid technical and/or academic background in biological sciences
- Demonstrated experience in study/survey design specific to marine field studies, environmental monitoring programs, abundance surveys, biological inventories and habitat offsetting/compensation programs an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with federal and provincial legislation along with preparing regulatory permit applications and authorizations.
- Proven skills in technical writing, statistical analysis and interpreting technical documents
- Experience or training in some or all the following for coastal and/or offshore environments:
- Marine species identification.
- Fish and invertebrate sampling.
- Sediment and water sampling.
- Marine mammal observation.
- Underwater acoustic monitoring experience.
- Underwater visual data review for marine habitat and species characterization.
- Able to work effectively as a member of a team, and independently with minimal supervision and direction.
- Able to demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills.
- Valid BC driver’s License

Salary range (in British Columbia): $64,300 - $88,400
