Imagine playing a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system. As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project. The Interlocking (IXL) is a system composed of Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electric, Electronic and Software components aimed at ensuring safe movements of trains.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your multifaceted expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation by significantly reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Project Management, Verification & Validation), ensure the application and adherence to the reference application design methods & tools, and much more.
We’ll look to you for:
- Taking part in the execution of IXL application design activities of a Signaling project, adopting the Alstom application design process and ensuring delivery according to the project's schedule and quality commitments.
- Sharing with Project IXL design leader the progress of the activities executed, the issues, and potential improvements that can be applied on methods and tools.
- Ensuring the application and adherence to the reference application design methods & tools, requesting in cooperation with the Project IXL design leader deviations whenever appropriate.
- Participating actively in the IXL detailed design review meetings and providing activity progress reports.
- Organizing and producing documentation and software design deliveries according to the project templates and needs.
- Supporting actively the Project IXL design leader and Project V&V manager in design issues debugging and testing.
- Analyzing and managing design change requests and participating actively in defining the IXL application package to be delivered to the V&V, installation, and Testing & Commissioning teams.
- Ensuring independence of the design activity from the verification activity.

- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience in IXL and/or TMS and/or ERTMS application design.
- Experience in relevant positions (systems/sub-system application design) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signaling, CBTC, aerospace, defense).
- Signaling HW Design and SW data generation processes understanding (desirable).
- Knowledge of signaling principles and translation of principles into application logic (desirable).
- Engineering and system background (desirable).
- Railway transport training certification.
- AutoCAD, programming language knowledge.
- Open-minded; multi-disciplinary approach; good communication; problem setting and problem-solving; writing skills required: clarity, rigor, and concision.
