Your Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate to Senior Electrical Technologist to join our Buildings Group. The successful candidate will contribute to electrical design and implementation projects, provide technical expertise, and support the delivery of high-quality building designs. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technologists and support staff.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our engineering services.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven track record of successfully contributing to complex electrical design and implementation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Technology or a related field.
  • Certification as an Electrical Technologist (e.g., CET) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical technology, with a focus on building projects.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
