We don't currently have any open positions for this role, but we're always looking for our next talented Stryver. If you want to try and impress us and change our minds, we'd be looking for a full-time Intermediate Designer. That would work closely with our Creative Director, Senior Designer, and Account Team to craft compelling digital experiences and assets and some print work for Stryve and our awesome clients.
This position would be open to residents of Ontario, Canada. You'd have the flexibility to work remotely, come into the office every day, or do a combination of both. Our office in Kitchener supports a collaborative hybrid workplace in the world's largest IoT building,
Catalyst137.While this would be a remote first position, you will need to travel to our Kitchener office or nearby clients a few times a year, so being within a commutable distance is essential.
Responsibilities
So, what would a typical day look like? In any given week, your tasks could include the following:
- Crafting designs for projects such as websites, landing pages, prototypes, social media assets, presentations, iconography/infographics, blog visuals, branding, and print work for marketing assets.
- Designing within an established brand and maintaining consistency through various touchpoints.
- Various in-house tasks to support our brand and marketing efforts.
- Staying on top of communications with the design and account teams through various channels such as email, Slack, and Jira.
- Using Jira and Tempo to manage your tasks and track your time.
- Handling multiple tasks simultaneously and adapting to shifting timelines.
- Helping us improve the way we work together by contributing to company discussions.
- Blogging: It's part of our ongoing learning culture. You'd occasionally write about design, work life, or design infographics.
- Leading client discovery calls to learn about their brand, project, and expectations.
- Presenting, rationalizing, and explaining your work to clients.
Requirements
Our next Intermediate Graphic Designer will have a post-secondary education (or similar) in Graphic Design, 3 to 5 years of experience in design roles, and a strong portfolio of previous digital and print work and tick the following boxes. These skills are critical for success in this role:
- Proven experience designing websites, from wireframes to dev-ready mockups.
- A solid understanding of print and digital production processes.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills, with a fine eye for detail.
- A strong understanding of brand consistency, layout, typography, and design principles.
- A belief that constructive feedback and direction make us and our work stronger.
- Ability to learn new technology, software, and interfaces quickly.
- Competence with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, and InDesign).
- Experience using Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and designing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- An enthusiasm to learn new things.
- Multitasking is your middle name.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to lead design projects, ensuring timely delivery without compromising on quality.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with project management software such as Jira or Trello.
- Illustration skills.
- Animation and video editing skills.
- Basic familiarity with WordPress.
- UX certification or training.
