The Intermediate Business Analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The Business Analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions.
Business Analysts use their knowledge of the business and the solution domain (for example: technology, process improvement, change management, etc.) to become an advocate for the business unit. They ensure needs are valid, understood, and met. This begins with identifying and documenting the needs of their clients and stakeholders, and continues by supporting the project team throughout the process of solution delivery.
The Business Analyst collaborates with senior Business Analysts and Business Consultants on enterprise initiatives, and may function as a mentor providing technical guidance and professional advice to more junior team members.
You Will...
- Provide business requirements and systems design services to project teams (including business clients and sponsors) in sufficient detail that the client can assess and validate them, and the project team can build from them.
- Determine client priorities through consultation.
- Ensure clients are well informed of the scope of project and the task requirements, including relevant policies and legislation.
- Promote Business Analyst best practice concepts, products and services.
- Provide technical support and information to clients.
- Evaluate the impact of introducing new methods or products into the clients operations. Identify and assess risks and opportunities for enhancing the performance of programs or policies, and make appropriate recommendations.
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in business or computer related discipline.
- Experience in a business operations role with an emphasis on process implementation and process improvement.
- Proficient in PC tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Microsoft Project).
- Proficient in Lotus Notes (Email, Database Management & Calendar / Scheduling).
- Proficient in Flowcharting Tools.
- Exposure to Business Modeling / Requirements Management Tools (e.g. Rational Requisite Pro & Rational Rose).
- Prior experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent role, including prior exposure to defining and documenting Business requirements and solutions design.
- Prior exposure to analyzing business processes, recommending process improvements and documenting / implementing improvement opportunities.
The job requires strong verbal and written communication skills in order to document requirements and design in a manner that meets all stakeholder needs.
