Intermediate Architectural Technologist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design and development of architectural projects, utilizing their expertise in drafting and project management.

This position requires proficiency in various software tools and a strong understanding of architectural principles. The Architectural Technologist will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to bring innovative designs to life.

Responsibilities:

• Draft architectural plans and designs using Sketchup, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects and project managers to develop design concepts and refine project details.
• Prepare technical drawings, models, and presentations for client meetings and project approvals.
• Produce design and construction documentation and specifications.
• Work with minimal supervision both independently and as part of a team, often balancing multiple projects.
• Contract administration: Coordinate and review shop drawings and submittals, prepare site instructions, respond to RFIs, administer change orders, and perform field reviews.
• Coordinate/communicate directly with clients, consultants, and City officials.
• Maintain and organize project records and filing consistent with office standards.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Revit and/or Vectorworks and Sketchup.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of BC Building Code and BC Energy Step Code.
• Experience with wood frame construction detailing.
• Experience with building envelope detailing.
• Graphic production and preparation of preliminary design imagery.
• Experience in project management or a willingness to learn project management principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Previous experience in customer service is beneficial for maintaining positive client relationships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,793.00 per year
