Intermediate Architect / Intern Architect AIBC

Salary: $70k+ depending on experience

THE CLIENT

We are proud to be partnering with a well-established firm in Vancouver as they search for a talented and motivated Intermediate Architect to join their team. This firm has a lot of new projects in their pipeline for 2021 and beyond and is in need of additional staff. This firm is a leader in modern and sustainable design with many award-winning projects in their portfolio.


THE ROLE

As an Intermediate Architect or Intern Architect you will have between 4 and 10 years of experience post-graduation and be involved in the following:

  1. Collaborate with other Architects to develop unique and modern designs for a range of projects.
  2. Work energetically with the project team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
  3. Prepare presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
  4. Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  5. Work closely with clients to determine project objectives and ensure client satisfaction through the process.
  6. Maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.
  7. Review technical drawings and documents.
  8. Contribute to report writing, plans, estimates, and calculations for coordination.
  9. Participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
  10. Participate in site visits as well as project reviews regarding project costs, budgets, and adherence to schedule.
  11. Communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner at all times, both verbally and in writing.
  12. Provide mentorship to junior staff.
  13. Apply proper QA/QC methods throughout the project.
  14. Work with Revit and a range of other software platforms.
WHAT YOU NEED
  1. To be successful in this role, you will have between 4 and 10 years of experience.
  2. Be a registered Architect with AIBC or a registered intern architect, progressing towards registration.
  3. You will ideally have a range of project experience, ideally with some commercial, public, community, or institutional project work behind you.
  4. Possess a passion for design excellence, sustainability, and the desire to create functional spaces.
  5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines is also essential.
