On-site Full-Time 3-Month Contract to Start

Contract : $38–$42 / hour Potential Permanent Salary : Up to $80,000 + Benefits

We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Intermediate Accountant to join a Richmond based team on an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for permanent employment based on performance. The primary focus of this role will be addressing a significant backlog of bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, and supporting clean financial reporting moving forward.

Responsibilities

• Tackle a large volume of backlogged bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Investigate discrepancies between internal records and bank statements, resolving issues efficiently
• Reconcile historical transactions with accuracy and attention to detail
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support accurate financial reporting and process improvement
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
• Provide reconciliation documentation for internal and external audit requirements
• Support the accounting team with other duties as required during the contract term

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in the CPA PEP program (Would consider PREP as well)
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Proven experience with complex or high-volume bank reconciliations, ideally involving backlog cleanup
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
