We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Interior Designer to work directly with homeowners, guiding them through their interior selections and upgrades. Your ability to blend creativity with strong sales acumen will be essential in guiding homeowners through their selections while offering value-driven design upgrades that enhance both their experience and our bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and Personalize Upgrades: Assist homeowners in exploring and selecting value-enhancing upgrades that align with their needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and informed decision-making experience.
- Customer Consultations: Conduct two structured design selection appointments with each homeowner.
- Introductory Selection Appointment: Assist in planning electrical, plumbing, framing modifications, and cabinetry upgrades.
- Final Interior Selections Appointment: Guide homeowners through flooring, countertops, backsplashes, paint colors, fixtures, and other finishing touches.
- Deposit Collection: Ensure timely collection of all required deposits for upgrades before processing selections.
- Documentation & Accuracy: Maintain detailed records of all homeowner selections and upgrades, ensuring no errors or omissions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Homeowners and Design Team to ensure smooth execution of interior selections.
- Timely Project Coordination: Schedule and document appointments in accordance with construction timelines to prevent delays.
- Product Knowledge: Attend Product Knowledge Sessions and guide upgrade selection. Participate in ongoing product knowledge sessions to stay informed about the latest design trends, materials, and features. Use this expertise to educate and assist homeowners in selecting value-enhancing upgrades that align with their style, needs, and budget.
Sales & Performance Expectations:
- Proactively present homeowners with upgrade opportunities that can enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and overall value of their homes.
- Provide cost-effective options that include durable materials at competitive prices, while ensuring the designs enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the home.
- Accurately document all selections in a detailed manner, including item descriptions, quantities, and any special instructions, and obtain homeowner sign-offs to confirm their agreement with the choices made.
Qualifications
Education:
- Post-secondary education in Interior Design (degree or diploma).
Experience:
- Proficiency in SketchUp and/or AutoCAD is a must, as you’ll utilize these tools to effectively communicate design concepts, create visual presentations, and ensure precise documentation.
- 3-5 years experience in Interior Design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
Skills:
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to attending regular product knowledge sessions to stay current on offerings and design trends.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals through effective client engagement and upgrade recommendations.
The compensation structure of this role will be a combination of a base salary and a commission structure which are tied to the value of the homeowner upgrades and selections.
The successful candidate will have a genuine customer service focus and a positive and professional demeanor. The selected candidate will be subject to a comprehensive screening process, including a clear criminal record check and reference checks.
