Job Summary

The Intermediate Interior Design Technologist will play a crucial role in providing technical support to interior designers, assisting in the development and implementation of interior design solutions for healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with interior designers to translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings.
2. Assist in the preparation of interior design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
3. Support the selection and specification of interior finishes, materials, and furniture suitable for healthcare environments.
4. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other design disciplines to ensure design integration.
5. Ensure that interior design solutions adhere to building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
6. Utilize design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, proficiently.
7. Participate in site visits to verify construction progress and alignment with design intent.
8. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source interior design products and materials.
9. Assist in the preparation of construction documents and detailing for interior design elements.
10. Review and assess shop drawings and submittals related to interior design components.
11. Stay updated with industry trends, new interior design technologies, and sustainable practices.
12. Support and collaborate with junior interior design technologists when required.

Qualifications

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design Technology or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience as an Interior Design Technologist, preferably with exposure to healthcare projects.
3. Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
4. Ability to produce detailed interior design drawings and construction documents.
5. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
6. Knowledge of interior design products, finishes, and materials suitable for healthcare environments.
7. Understanding of construction processes and the ability to collaborate with various design disciplines.
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented with an emphasis on accuracy and precision in technical drawings.
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively work with design teams.
11. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
12. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D visualization tools is a plus.
