ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

This role reports to Paola Gavilanez, Interior Design Program Chair.

Please note: Only KPU students can apply to this role.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized student assistant to support our Interior Design Program with documentation, filing, and organization tasks related to the accreditation process by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). The student assistant will work closely with faculty and staff members involved in accreditation to ensure all required documentation is properly compiled, organized, and accessible for review.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in gathering and organizing documentation required for CIDA accreditation.
  2. File and maintain physical and digital records in accordance with accreditation standards.
  3. Support faculty and staff in compiling evidence of compliance with accreditation criteria.
  4. Assist with data entry and record-keeping tasks related to the accreditation process.
  5. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely submission of accreditation materials.
  6. Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the accreditation process.
  7. Maintain strict confidentiality of all accreditation-related documents, discussions, and information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  2. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Prior experience with documentation or administrative tasks is preferred but not required.
  6. Familiarity with the Interior Design program curriculum is preferred.

SALARY INFORMATION

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:

  1. Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum Wage
  2. One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
  3. With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
