Job description

Job Summary
We are looking for an insurance producer to join Palladium in Commercial Lines. The successful candidate is a self-starter who will work in collaboration with the Executive team and respective colleagues to strategize, develop and market new and renewal business for our clients. He/she should have a solid understanding of the insurance marketplace and commercial products along with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with insurance carriers. Strong negotiating and technical skills are required to analyze information and prepare effective quotes and proposals. Experienced sales acumen is necessary.

Responsibilities

  1. Service ongoing client needs, advise on insurance matters, conduct needs assessment, recommend solutions, answer inquiries, conduct care calls and process renewals.
  2. Sell new policies/write new business to existing or new clients, retain existing book of business.
  3. Quote new business through outbound call initiatives, introductory letters, and receive walk-in clients.
  4. Contact insurance carrier underwriters and adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy.
  5. Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications for clients, issue insurance certificates, process changes and review renewals.
  6. Keep current on underwriting rules and workflow processes.
  7. Actively participate in training initiatives.
  8. Participate in community marketing initiatives.
  9. Process account receivable activities.
  10. Provide guidance and assistance as requested.

Requirements

  1. Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario (RIBO) License and/or higher insurance accreditation with 3-5 years experience.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French required.
  3. Strong experience with large and loyal client portfolio base to handle inquiries regarding quotes, policy changes, coverage review, rating accuracy, billing and claims.
  4. Handle incoming/outgoing calls and Outlook emails.
  5. Experience with Applied Systems Private Cloud, EPIC Broker Management System, and Applied Rating Services required.
  6. Quotation skills: New business, cross selling, upselling and remarketing.
  7. Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications with new clients, and issue insurance certificates, market new accounts and work on existing book of business.
  8. Experience with Insurance Carrier Underwriting Guidelines and establish excellent relationships with our Insurance partners.
  9. Manage follow-up activities.
  10. Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions with clients and co-workers.
  11. Perform well in a busy operation.
  12. Strong organization and time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  13. Familiar with Microsoft Products.

Work Remotely: This can be a hybrid position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
