Job Summary

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice has approximately 500 program students and offers a Diploma in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, and an Honours program.

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a one-year Limited Term Faculty appointment to begin September 1, 2025. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections in the areas of criminal justice (CRIM 103, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System) and social policy (CRIM 450, Social Policy Analysis), and at least one other course that the candidate is qualified to teach.

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, a Master of Arts degree in Criminology (other related disciplines will be considered).
  • Strong theoretical, conceptual, and applied knowledge of Canadian criminal justice and their operations, and Canadian criminal justice and social policies.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
  • Ability to mentor students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Ability or potential to develop and deliver technology-supported teaching (e.g., online, hybrid) is preferred.
