Job description

Position Description:

This individual would be required to work in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Assist with installation and support of computer workstations and peripherals.
  • Provide helpdesk telephone support for IT-related technical issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of all information technology hardware and software.
  • Assist in the administration of user and email accounts.
  • Help create information technology documentation.
  • Perform daily office administration as required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Information Technology-related course at a Community College or University.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows 7.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP network connectivity in LAN and WAN systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, follow verbal and written instructions, and complete duties with minimal supervision while adhering to Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a Class G2 Driver’s License, as occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public.

Note:

Employment is conditional upon attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to minimum age requirements, and ability to meet the employment term.

At the time of application, candidates must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution.

Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment.

Hours: 35 hours per week

Posting Period: December 2, 2024 – January 31, 2025

Duration: The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months, commencing April 30, 2025, until August 29, 2025.
