Are you ready to play a key role in protecting an organization’s most valuable assets? As an Information Security Specialist with Genoa, you’ll help safeguard our systems and data by assisting in the planning, implementation, and support of security measures. You’ll be at the forefront of maintaining a secure IT environment, working alongside a dynamic IT team.
You will assist with conducting audits, assessments, investigations, configurations, as well as aid in disaster recovery tasks. Working with other members of the IT organization, you will investigate anomalous behavior while maintaining operational baselines, aid in the technical delivery and configuration of security tools, maintain Genoa's cyber security awareness program, as well as contribute to the creation of security policies and standards.
You will have technical knowledge of security models, software, and techniques to ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect the organization. As a key part of this role, you will need to stay up to date on relevant security trends and developments both internal and externally and be able to share this information effectively across the business. Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in a related field, or equivalent experience. Network & Security certifications are considered an asset.
Relevant Experience and Knowledge: 1 to 3 years of experience in IT security and computer networking, with solid technical skills and expertise in network protocols, software, and hardware used in LAN/WAN infrastructure. Familiarity with security tools, models, frameworks, and enterprise-level solutions is essential. Additionally, strong diagnostic and analytical skills are required to effectively identify and resolve security issues.
Power Skills: Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment by staying calm under pressure and effectively prioritizing tasks. Strong time management and multitasking abilities, coupled with the capacity to work independently, are essential. Additionally, a positive and proactive attitude, along with a strong sense of initiative, are key traits for success.
Please note that obtaining security clearance may be a requirement for this position, and as part of the process, applicants may undergo a background check and personal reference verification.
To be eligible for clearance and this position, candidates must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
