Schedule: Night Shift (07:00 PM – 05:30 AM), Working days are Sunday- Thursday
Overview:
We are seeking a results-oriented Industrial Electrician, also known as Technician, Maintenance – Electrical, to
join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting production by installing, repairing, and maintaining
electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, and wiring for industrial electrical systems. You will ensure
that electrical systems comply with the Ontario Electrical Standards Act and contribute to increased equipment
up-time and reliability through preventative and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Reporting (15%)
o Prepare reports on repairs, design problems, potential equipment failures, or unsafe conditions.
o Complete work orders and record materials utilized on jobs.
Production (30%)
o Read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic drawings, blueprints, schematics, and
electrical code specifications to determine equipment installation layouts.
o Prepare preliminary drawings, layouts, and specifications based on verbal or written design
criteria.
o Install, maintain, repair, and test electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage
batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems, and programmable logic controls.
o Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components
to ensure they remain functional and up to code.
o Source and evaluate alternative components and materials based on cost and performance.
o Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
o Collaborate with the maintenance team to relocate or install stationary industrial machinery and
equipment.
o Share technical information with the maintenance team to facilitate troubleshooting and repair
processes.
Line Efficiency (15%)
o Participate in the Preventative Maintenance program to continuously improve electrical
components and programming.
o Solve line issues and provide suggestions and recommendations to enhance accuracy.
o Identify inefficiencies and implement effective processes to increase line efficiency.
Quality Control (15%)
o Investigate and implement controls and programming changes to improve productivity and
quality.
Health and Safety (25%)
o Assess operating safety devices post-repair, modification, and installation to ensure proper
functioning.
o Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the Ontario
Electrical Standards Act.
o Follow health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education
o College Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Certifications
o 442A – Certificate of Industrial Electrician
o 309A – Certificate of Construction and Maintenance Electrician
o Forklift Operator Training Certificate
o Aerial Lifts Training Certificate
Experience
o 3–5 years as an Industrial Electrician.
o Experience in high-volume manufacturing.
o Setup and repair of automation and robotics.
o Experience with troubleshooting robotics preferred.
Skills
o Proficiency in computer systems (Level 5).
o Hands-on technical skills, including mechanical repair, electrical systems, pneumatic systems,
and PLCs.
