We currently have an opportunity for an Industrial Electrician at our Richardson Port Terminal located in Thunder Bay. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position will provide support for electrical repair and maintenance of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Installs, modifies, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, devices and equipment.
  2. Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical and control equipment.
  3. Participates in training related to this position.
  4. Operates in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices.
  5. Provides assistance to other Maintenance team members.
  6. Responds to after-hours emergency calls on a rotational basis.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  1. Electrician ticket with Red Seal.
  2. Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Inter-provincial certification under the Red Seal Program.
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrician in a heavy industrial environment.
  4. Strong skills in reading and interpretation of electrical schematics/logic drawings to troubleshoot and diagnose plant equipment.
  5. Knowledge of automated systems and suppliers.
  6. Must be capable of lifting and stacking 50 lbs without assistance.
  7. Demonstrated organizational skills and personal initiative.
  8. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  9. Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Strong work ethic and a proven safety record.
  11. Ability to work in conditions such as confined spaces, heights, dust, and temperature extremes.
  12. Ability to work shift work, scheduled shutdowns and respond to Emergency Call-Ins.

Asset:

  1. Diploma of Technology.
  2. Strong IT background.
  3. Networking experience (Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus).
  4. Programming experience.
  5. Any other mechanical trades, fabricator would be considered an asset.
