Midland Transport is currently seeking an Inbound Leadhand at our Dartmouth Terminal, NS. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with strong work ethic and “Can Do” attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma
• Previous experience in a warehouse and/or freight handling preferred but not required
• Ability to perform physically demanding job functions
• Committed to working safely in a fast paced environment
• Capable of working positively with others toward common goals
• Forklift experience and/or certification an asset, but not required
• Able to read and write clearly to complete paperwork
• Knowledge of the HRM Geography an asset
• Knowledge of computers an asset.

Responsibilities

• Efficient and safe load planning to meet scheduled departure times
• Maintaining a clean and organized facility is essential
• Prepare and report freight handling details and shift statistics
• Supervising workers, ensuring work is completed accurately and productively
• Assisting hold for pickup, doorknocker customers.
