This position is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

The Master of Forensic Accounting (MFAcc) program is a 10-course program offered at the graduate level, primarily on a distance education basis, using a problem-based learning model supplemented by web- and email-based sessions. The Program currently has the following Sessional Lecturer positions available for the Winter term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. Description of course:

Building upon the introduction to loss quantification in earlier courses, IFA2906H will present additional material on: types of claims; overview of damages; overview of the litigation process; lost revenues; additional costs; inventory losses; expert reports; alleged wrongdoing; methodological and technical issues; personal injury; and business interruption insurance and insurance law.

IFA 2906H will be taught online in 9 once-per-week, interactive sessions, 3 hours in length, followed by an invigilated examination in the 10th week. There will also be an individual assignment and a group assignment.

Position description:

Instructor
As the Instructor in the course, you will be responsible for liaising with the MFAcc Director and/or his nominee when required. New program development as per the requirements of the curriculum mapping. Providing feedback to the Director and/or his nominee, and TAs for each assignment. Providing a final marks list to the Director within two weeks of the final examination. Meeting with students online for at least 3 hours per week for 8 weeks using the Program's Adobe/Quercus system. Answering emails from students on a short-delay basis at other times during the week, as required. Providing feedback to students on assignments through the MFAcc Office within two weeks and in accordance with the standards set for the MFAcc Program. Consultation with the Director when appropriate.

Secondary Instructor
The role of the secondary instructors will be to develop and teach one class on their area of expertise.

Minimum qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are either PhD in relevant discipline (completed) or for non-University of Toronto graduate students, in progress, or relevant qualifications, professional designation or professional experience. We are seeking previous experience in teaching, teaching excellence, and mastery of subject area. Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Salary:

$17,267.74 for the course -
divided between the instructors
